As chairman of Wallace, Welch & Willingham, Scott leads with the business philosophy “Put the Client’s Best Interest First”.
As a third generation local, he began is career with Wallace Welch & Willingham in 1989 as a Commercial Lines, Property and Casualty agent. Scott was originally elected to the board of directors in 1995 and in 2000 he was appointed Executive Vice President of Sales. Scott was elected CEO in 2004 and currently serves on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and he manages the agency’s internal perpetuation model. In addition to fulfilling corporate responsibilities, he continues to participate in new client development, and he enjoys mentoring young executives who share his passion for the industry.
Active in civic and community affairs, Scott is a former member of member of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) and the Suncoasters Civic Club; a graduate of Leadership St. Pete; a past Director of Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association; a member and past Director of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club; a past Officer and Director of Independent Insurers Association of Greater St. Petersburg; a past President of Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents (PAIA); past President of Sunshine City Jaycees; past Director of The Suncoast Children’s Dream Fund; and a past Director of the St Petersburg Quarterback Club. He has won numerous awards, including multiple years as WWW’s Producer of the Year, Agent of the Year from PAIA, Leadership Award from Leadership of St. Pete Alumni Association, Service Award from Sunshine City Jaycees, Child Advocate of the Year Award from Creativity in Child Care-R Club and, he in 2008 he was honored by PARC as one of the Tampa Bay’s 13 Most Magnetic Men.
Scott received his Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from the University of South Florida college of Engineering. He and his wife Gaby reside in St Petersburg Florida as do their two sons (Scotty 26 and William 24) who work at W3.
