IMA Hires Stephanie Crochet as National Energy Practice Leader

IMA Financial Group, a North American insurance brokerage firm specializing in risk management, insurance, wholesale brokerage and money management, is announcing a key hire this week with the addition of Stephanie Crochet as National Energy Practice Leader. Crochet brings more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, most recently as Director, Risk & Insurance with Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., a prominent North American midstream operator where she directed operational risk management and insurance activities for the company.
Stephanie’s career launched in quality management with Det Norske Veritas before transitioning in 2001 to the brokerage side of the insurance “trifecta”—consumers, brokers, and insurers—where she developed a deep understanding of client and market dynamics. In total, Stephanie has spent the last 15 years in risk management for Plains All American Pipeline and GulfMark Offshore, which has helped her develop a deep expertise for the unique challenges, complex regulatory environments, emerging risks, and evolving demands of the energy sector.
As National Energy Practice Leader at IMA, Crochet will oversee a team of over 75 energy insurance professionals, helping clients navigate an increasingly complex landscape by designing innovative risk strategies and optimizing insurance programs. She will lead IMA’s expanding energy specialty practice out of Houston, the firm’s rapidly growing hub for energy risk and insurance services since its 2021 launch.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from East Texas A&M University. She has earned the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Everen Technical accreditations, is a licensed Property & Casualty General Lines Agent in Texas and has been involved in key industry organizations, including:
