What is the Florida Baptist Insurance Research Project?
The Florida Baptist Convention partnered with IMA to explore a potential insurance solution designed specifically for Florida Baptist churches. Florida churches are facing rising property and casualty insurance costs, fewer coverage options, and carriers leaving the market. The project is exploring whether a collective approach can create a stronger, more sustainable alternative while helping churches preserve more resources for ministry.
What has IMA done so far?
IMA has gathered and analyzed property schedules, existing coverage, premiums, and loss histories from churches across Florida. That information has been used to develop financial models, evaluate potential program structures, and begin conversations with insurance carriers about possible solutions.
What role will IMA play in the program?
IMA is helping guide the program from research through development, using its insurance, risk management, analytics, and market expertise to evaluate options and engage potential carriers. As the program takes shape, IMA will continue working with the Florida Baptist Convention to develop a solution that meets the unique needs of its churches.
