ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Provides leadership that is of a quality and nature that results in continued growth and profitability of the Alabama offices
- Creates a culture within the Alabama offices that supports and embraces IMA’s core values
- Values, understands, and promotes the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
- Partners with Sales and Sales leadership to recruit Producers; provides leadership and mentoring to Producers within Alabama market
- Responsible for ensuring proper staffing levels for service teams and units, including the ability to recruit and retain talent
- Responsible for developing and monitoring a budget and financial plan for Alabama which supports the overall financial goals of the organization
- Assists in building and maintaining relationships with prospects and clients, attending client meetings as needed or requested
- Serves as a liaison with internal and external organizations, trade associations, and related groups affecting the industry and the organization
- Works with Local and Corporate IMA leadership, National Practice Directors, and Producers to achieve office/corporate goals
- Works with Legal team to protect IMA’s interests and assets
- Provides mentoring to associates when requested or appropriate
- Embraces IMA culture and by actions inspires others to do the same
- Engages co-workers by learning about them personally (family, hobbies, life experiences)
- By actions, helps all associates recognize the value of being an associate of IMA
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- At least 10 years of similar or related experience
- Intermediate experience with MS Office products (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Must attain and maintain relevant insurance licenses
- Preferred: attains and maintains professional designation (CPCU, CIC, ARM, etc.)
- Limited travel required (less than 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to be clear, diplomatic, and persuasive
