What You'll Do:

  • Designing and implementing a strategic vision for RIA operational and technology infrastructure
    1. Formulate and drive long-term strategic vision of RIA operating model, designing, implementing, and evolving processes and technology to support expansion at scale
    2. Work collaboratively with IMA Advisors leadership to identify division-wide operational opportunities to support growth and profitability
    3. Design, implement, and evolve systems and processes to optimize the client, advisor, and service team experience
    4. Extend operational infrastructure to new markets, integrating/adapting processes and technology to connect new advisors, teams, and firms to the IMA environment
    5. Lead integration of RIA platform with overall IMA infrastructure to provide seamless flow of bidirectional data where appropriate
    6. Promote a strong compliance culture by designing and implementing systems and processes in partnership with the Chief Compliance Officer and team
    7. Drive innovation to keep the firm on the front end of industry developments in operations and technology (e.g., process automation, Artificial Intelligence applications)
    8. Travel to existing IMA offices as required to build relationships and support local teams
  • Building, developing, and leading a team to deliver industry-leading RIA operations
    1. Create strong community and culture among operations professionals across RIA operating units (direct and indirect reports)
    2. Recruit high-quality operations professionals as the business scales
    3. Promote strong performance, development, and advancement of operations professionals through coaching and the creation of attractive career paths
  • Working collaboratively with IMA Financial Group functions and 3rd party partners to deliver an effective and efficient operating model
    1. Work closely with IMA Technology, Operations, Finance, and other functional leaders to leverage and integrate RIA operations and corporate infrastructure where appropriate
    2. Identify, vet, select, and manage a network of 3rd party vendors to complement internal capabilities, support profitable growth, and promote information security/resilience
  • Training/onboarding of new associates, teams, and firms
    1. Lead operational onboarding of new advisors and teams to RIA platform
    2. Work with 3rd party partners and end-users to assess and deliver training programs to IMA associates
  • Ongoing analysis and reporting on business operations
    1. Conduct regular analyses of system/process usage by clients and associates to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and client/associate experience
    2. Generates periodic and ad hoc reports for RIA and IMA Advisors management, IMA finance, and general business decision support
    3. Assists advisors with client-specific reports and requests
    4. Drives business analytics on client book of business to identify trends, concerns, and opportunities

You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in wealth management industry required, with a deep understanding of the operational, technology, and compliance functions required in an RIA environment
  • Prior experience with Envestnet and Schwab platforms strongly preferred
  • High levels of ethical behavior in accordance with professional and industry standards
  • Ability to foster positive interactions between associates; acts as an example for others
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively formulate and communicate a strategic vision for the operations and technology infrastructure and relay technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Critical thinking and problem solving with high degree of self-direction and attention to detail
  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates

Salary Range
$200,000—$230,000 USD
