ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

  • Interacts professionally and timely with clients via email, phone and in-person to maintain regular, professional contact to create and foster relationships with client representatives
  • Responsibility for executing the Taft Hartley & Government division’s strategic direction of solutions and tools
  • Client Management
    • Leads both long- and short-term strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit programs
    • Ensures programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements including ability to lead compliance conversations/reviews with client and provide non-legal review of carrier/vendor documents/contracts
    • Utilizes intermediate knowledge of actuarial concepts and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client and internal team, including ability to prepare & deliver renewal presentations if needed
    • Directs the service teams’ work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting
    • Responsible for ensuring client deliverables meet quality, accuracy and professional standards
  • Carrier and Vendor Relationships
    • Develops strong carrier and vendor relationships to support and leads negotiation and advocacy during client coverage placement and renewal process, utilizing department peers and/or leadership as necessary
    • Coordinates with internal subject matter experts and practice leaders to bring current and emerging markets and products and brings solutions to the table that are aligned with clients’ stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning
    • Experience leading & participating in new carrier implementations across multiple benefit lines such as medical, Rx, dental, vision, life/disability/leave, etc.
  • Internal Partnership
    • Availability to serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits division
    • Strong commitment to participation in department or agency-wide committees and special projects
    • Provide mentorship & guidance to Account Managers & Analysts
  • People Management
    • May coordinate and manage the overall work and projects of assigned associates, providing clear communication of expectations, established timeframes, regular progress updates, and annual performance evaluations
    • Participates in the hiring process for direct reports as well as additional department hires as needed
    • Provides feedback to service team members, and their direct supervisors as needed, in support of on-going professional development goals, ensuring client expectations are met
  • Production Partnership
    • Participates in finalist and/or prospect meetings as determined by National Accounts Director & production staff

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of similar or related experience
  • Prefer college graduate, 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced skill set with MS Office Suites w/ emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint
  • Attains Life and Health license & maintains through continuing education requirements
  • Moderate travel required (33% - 50%) depending on associate location
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, on multiple work streams, and with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates above average business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences
  • Demonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectivenessDemonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions

Salary Range
$140,000—$170,000 USD
