Job Summary

The Client Executive is responsible for providing inside and outside service to clients, assistance to the Producer when applicable, developing knowledge of the accounts, and acting as liaison between the client and other departments.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Cultivates and nurtures a meaningful working relationship with current and prospective clients as well as internal and external referral sources. Interacts with clients through phone, email, and in person on a regular basis. Conducts on-site visits to connect with clients and their employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead meetings with prospects and clients on their own
  • Understands the IMA value proposition and presents capabilities to current and prospective clients
  • Markets renewals and new business, working with the Producer when applicable. Prepares benefits analysis and proposals and presents options to the client’s decision makers
  • Directs the work of the Client Associate and Client Advisor when applicable
  • Conducts benefits presentations for clients’ employees through coordinated annual enrollment meetings
  • Reviews and implements procedures in order to streamline processes and incorporate the capabilities of the system into daily workflow
  • Maintains a current knowledge of insurance coverages, the available markets, carrier eligibility requirements, and underwriting guidelines. Maintains knowledge of carrier intricacies, such as plan designs, network restrictions, and internal systems.
  • Ability to explain insurance coverage to clients, tailoring the verbiage so that the audience understands
  • Is directly responsible for the retention and growth of the assigned book of business
  • Offers technology solutions to clients, and facilitates payment for technology by the carrier, resulting in a value-added benefit for clients
  • Resolves escalated problems received from the client, insured members and/or insurance carriers, including but not limited to eligibility, enrollment, and detailed claims inquiries.
  • Ensures all carrier submissions are complete and accurate. Works with client, carrier, and Client Advisor to provide a positive experience for client and insured members.
  • Maintains service calendar and assures all milestones are being met in a timely manner
  • Communicates compliance and regulatory changes to clients and ensures adherence to these regulations
  • Keeps all current and historical information updated in the agency management system
  • Maintains accurate records in agency’s value-added technology platforms, such as Zywave and HR360
  • Securely handles all PHI in accordance with HIPAA
  • Maintains industry knowledge and required licensing
  • Interact, communicate and collaborate with IMA staff; sharing information and time as needed to support business objectives
  • Assists or completes other tasks as directed by the Producer and/or IMA Benefits Practice Leader

Minimum requirements

  • Hold and maintain a NC Insurance Agent license.
  • At least 7 years of Client Advisor experience or Risk Management Degree with at least 5 years of Client Advisor experience.
  • Possesses behavioral indicators for sales and leadership aptitude based on Predictive Index results.
  • Successful completion of assessment to demonstrate a firm understanding and the ability to explain insurance coverage to clients.
  • Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to be paid by a combination of salary and additional compensation based on team results.
