IRS Extended Deadlines For Those Impacted by the CA Wildfires

On January 10, 2025, the IRS announced tax relief for certain individuals/businesses in CA. The tax relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines that occurred from 1/7/25 and through 10/15/2025. The new filing deadline is October 15, 2025.

The IRS announcement includes a list of deadlines that have been extended as well as links to FEMA. Currently, all of Los Angeles County is a designated disaster area and individuals or businesses in Los Angeles qualify for tax relief.

The extended deadline relief also applies to Form 5500 filings for businesses located in Los Angeles County. For filings due on or after January 7^th and before October 15^th of this year, the extended deadline is October 15, 2025.
