Role:
Responsible for servicing, marketing and renewing assigned accounts plus accounts receivable management for all accounts in the individual's book of business. This position is responsible for a large volume of assigned business. Sales aptitude and qualities required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain proactive communication level with clients, production staff and other associates. This includes handling client and/or insurance company questions/issues concerning services rendered or referring complaints of service failures to the appropriate management staff for investigation and resolution.
- Participate in preparation of new and renewal submissions and obtain underwriting information.
- Develop a service plan tailored to client's needs and coordinate the services of other IMA departments (Risk
- Management, Claims, Surety, Benefits, etc).
- Conduct periodic coverage and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of the client's program design.
- Develop sales of new or additional lines of coverage or services on existing accounts.
- Participate in developing marketing strategy for renewals and new business including cultivating and maintaining good communication with insurance markets.
- Responsible for collection of all account receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy.
- Communicate to Account Managers regarding the account review information and the bind coverage information in conjunction with workflow standards.
- Attend education classes, seminars, workshops, etc., in combination with individual study programs to expand knowledge and skills to retain a book of business. This includes maintaining and communicating up‑to‑date knowledge of market conditions, pricing strategies, market/product option etc. to all team members and Producers.
- Actively support the department by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account.
Performance Measurements:
- Complete all duties in accordance with IMA workflow standards.
- Treat clients, company personnel and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Attain professional designation in insurance programs such as AU, CPCU, ARM, etc.
- Travel as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
- Equivalent to a college degree.
- The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or over 5 years of commercial insurance sales, management, training experience required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Mathematical abilities and reasoning skills necessary.
- Ability to interpret insurance documents is required.
- Property and casualty license required for state of business.
- Must fulfill continuing education requirements to retain license.
