POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Benefits Division Manager ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through oversight of the day-to-day operations of the department. This role supports the retention of the Employee Benefits client base and focuses on departmental efficiencies and improvements and is responsible for client satisfaction, with the primary focus of leading a team that provides a superior level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Finance:
- Manage and control expenses within division to achieve profit margin goal.
- Manage and control payroll within division to balance staffing needs with profit margin goal.
- Participate in annual strategic planning and budgeting process and subsequent implementation.
- Submit the development of regular reports on key performance indicator, financial metrics & division goals
- Proactively assess the book of business and client profiles to determine profitability and report to executive team any suggested changes in the client relationship/service levels
- Work in collaboration with the EB Practice Leader to expand the division’s client base and revenue streams
Operations:
- Lead, mentor & inspire the client/service support team of approximately 20 individuals
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide professional development opportunities for team members
- Responsible for selection and development of client service staff at appropriate levels.
- Reinforce a customer centric service environment through mentoring and regular interaction with staff.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and customer service by improving ongoing service delivery methods.
- Monitor workloads and make adjustments as necessary.
- Direct service standards to ensure clients receive consistent, quality service.
- Regularly review and update departmental procedures.
- Provide agency efficiency through process improvement methods and quality assurance.
- Develop continually efficient operations processes and ensure adoption, utilization and proficiency of corresponding department changes.
- Maintain and manage carrier relationships to ensure optimal service delivery; identify and provide resolution of carrier related service items.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; networking.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments and regulatory changes affecting employee benefits
- Ensure that employee benefit offerings comply with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Organize the annual benefit seminar as well as periodic webinars for clients and prospects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products.
- Working knowledge of Epic, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Florida 215 Life & Health License, required.
- Florida driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation.
- An Insurance Designation equivalent to RHU, REBC, CEBS, preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of health insurance and employee benefits (i.e. group life, disability, dental, vision), as well as pertinent federal rules and regulations such as COBRA, ERISA, Section 125, HIPAA, FMLA, HSA rules and Medicare secondary payer rules.
- Mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must carry a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 Bodily Injury Liability and $50,000 Property Damage Limits on a personal auto policy.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. The overall noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate.
