IMA's Claim Client Advantage team is seeking a Workers Compensation Claim Executive to join our group in California! This role is responsible for the advocacy of timely and optimal resolution of workers compensation claims for our clients. A successful applicant must have strong relationship building skills, possess self-direction, and effective communication and problem-solving skills. This position is eligible for hybrid scheduling or fully remote within the state of California.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Interact professionally and timely with clients via email, phone, and in-person
  • Maintain a proactive approach focusing on claim strategies and resolutions
  • Communicate pertinent claim information timely to internal and external clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Subject matter or specific coverage line knowledge and expertise in multiple lines of coverage
  • Participate in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, renewals, etc.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of IMA computer systems/programs
  • Assist Claim Manager with claim staff onboarding, training and development
  • Develop and expand relationships at local, regional and national levels with carriers, TPAs, legal resources, consultants, etc.
  • Lead and contribute to Claim Projects, and other tasks as assigned
  • Attend insurance related seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes
  • Support and demonstrate IMA’s core values

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:  include but are not limited to:

  • 10 + years of prior Claims experience required
  • Strong knowledge of California Workers’ Compensation Claims, including rules and regulations required
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree required
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling required
  • Moderate travel required (25-50%)
  • System skills or aptitude – Applied Epic, Carrier and TPA platforms preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills required
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers required

Salary Range
$91,300—$136,400 USD
