What You'll Do

  • Responsible for building communication materials essential to the open enrollment strategy and process
  • Input and/or amend client, policy, coverage, premium and billing information into the agency management system and keep current at all times
  • Maintain and be responsible for expiration log and renewal list
  • Check policy coverages, changes and amendments for accuracy and relevance
  • Provide exceptional internal and external client services
  • Serve as carrier and client contact for routine questions
  • Participate in marketing new and renewal policies as instructed
  • Assist with processing renewals and incidental new business, cancellations and policy changes as instructed
  • Assist with new and renewal proposals, coverage summaries and client check lists for presentation to clients
  • Assist with open enrollment meetings upon request
  • Assist in reconciliation of client accounts, as needed
  • Maintain and suggest improvements to agency management system documentation
  • Special projects, word processing and Excel as instructed
  • Attend company and department meetings, position-related seminars/classes, client meetings, carrier functions, and other events
  • Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for the department and company
  • Pursue a program for personal and professional development, including educational classes in your specific field and those offered by IMA/Bolton in communication, leadership, corporate language, and other classes as recommended by leaders

You Should Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year office or administrative experience and/or training required
  • Attain and maintain life and disability insurance license within 60 days of hire
  • Basic knowledge of Benefits 101 and the ability to read and understand benefits summary
  • Ability to represent the organization to clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to multi-task and transition from one responsibility to another in a positive and energetic manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize, and work independently

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.  Prior Criminal history will only be considered after a conditional job offer is made and accepted.  Applicants will have the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding any convictions, provide mitigating evidence, or challenge the accuracy of the background report.


Salary Range
$47,000—$55,000 USD
