We are seeking a Surety Account Representative to join our Wichita, KS team! This position is a great opportunity for anyone looking to begin their career in insurance brokerage by leading the preparation of surety bonds for IMA clients. A successful applicant must be detail oriented with strong priority management skills, strong communication skills, and experience with problem solving and ability to perform intermediate level mathematics.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare surety bonds, consents, riders, applications, indemnity agreements, and correspondence
- Report bonds to surety companies
- Prepare invoices on new bonds, premium adjustments, and renewals as instructed
- Obtain bid results and reports to sureties
- Set up and maintain carrier files, bond and form files, including EPIC projects
- Handle paper filing, copying, delivery, and overnight packages
- Under moderate guidance, assist with gathering and maintaining client underwriting files
- Under moderate guidance, assist Surety Manager and Account Executives with various projects when needed
- Interact professionally and timely with clients via email, phone, and in-person
- Perform functions of the role within an IMA office 100% of the time
- Support and demonstrate IMA’s core values
- Value and understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
Required skills and experiences:
- Minimum six months of professional work experience required
- College degree required
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required
- Experience with SuretyWave, ImageRight, EPIC, and FoxIt preferred
- Attain Property and Casualty license within the first 30-90 days of employment, unless already licensed required
- Possess and maintains a current, valid Driver’s License required
- Limited travel required (less than 25%)
