Why hotels are seeing a greater risk of data breaches
Director of Cyber Risk Tim Burke was recently featured in the Denver Business Journal as an expert on hotel data breaches.
Burke stressed it's an issue the hospitality industry needs to recognize. While retail stores have been victims of the most high profile data breaches to date, hackers are also targeting an increasing number of hotels and restaurants for their guest payment card and affinity program information.
“There’s a reputational issue that anyone who’s going to potentially stay there is going to be aware that took place,” Burke said.
