Veteran insurance professional Michael Campo to lead IMA's national construction practice
IMA, Inc., one of the country’s largest employee-owned, private insurance brokers, announced Monday the hire of Michael Campo as IMA, Inc. executive vice president and national construction practice leader. Formerly overseeing Lockton Companies’ construction practice, Campo will bring nearly 30 years of construction insurance expertise to IMA’s construction clients around the world. Campo’s first day will be Sept. 1.
“Michael is one of the top professionals in our business and one of the preeminent experts in construction risk. We could not be more thrilled to have someone of Michael’s talent as a part of the IMA team,” said IMA, Inc. President Bob Reiter. “He will help take an area of great strength for us in our construction group and make it world class.”
Originally from Kansas City, Campo will be located in IMA’s Denver office and report directly to IMA, Inc. President Bob Reiter. He previously worked at Lockton Companies for more than 20 years and earlier held positions at Zurich Insurance and Aetna Life and Casualty.
“I can’t wait to start working with and leading IMA’s highly respected construction professionals,” Campo said. “As a team, our experts will work across offices and share our knowledge as one IMA regardless of where clients are located. Everyone will have access to all of IMA’s top national talent.”
Campo’s credentials include earning his Chartered Casualty Property Underwriter (CPCU), Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Underwriting (AU). He is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and received an MBA focusing in entrepreneurial studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a regular presenter at insurance and construction conferences and has taught insurance classes at UMKC’s Henry W. Bloch School of Management.
“It never ceases to amaze me the level of talent that is pouring into our company,” said IMA Financial Group, Inc. Chairman and CEO Robert Cohen. “It is a testament to our business model and employee-ownership structure that allows professionals like Michael to flourish. We can’t wait to have him start this new chapter.”
