IMA adds healthcare veteran to boost national offerings
Maria Terry to join IMA as national healthcare practice leader
IMA, Inc., one of the country’s largest independent and employee owned insurance brokers, announced today the addition of Maria Terry as the company’s new vice president and healthcare practice leader.
With nearly 40 years of industry experience, Terry has managed broker healthcare departments, assisted with new business production and served as an account executive on numerous healthcare accounts. At her last employer, Lockton Denver, Terry helped grow the healthcare department to nearly $6 million in revenue. Prior to Lockton, Terry worked for 21 years with Marsh and McLennan Companies where she was a senior vice president holding various positions including healthcare broker, middle market leader and casualty manager in their Denver, Chicago and Dallas offices.

Along with an extensive career supporting clients, Terry is also active outside of her employer responsibilities. She was designated by Risk and Insurance Magazine as a “Power Broker” for healthcare in 2016, which recognizes individuals who consistently provide creative solutions for their clients. Terry is a former Colorado Healthcare Associated Risk Managers (CHARM) president and is also a past board chair of the Denver Chapter of Dress for Success. She currently volunteers for the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado as their community relations chair of the gala committee.
Terry earned her bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University and holds the ARM and CIC designations. She lives in the Denver metro areas enjoys the Colorado outdoors by running, hiking and skiing in her spare time. Her first day will be Oct. 17 at IMA’s Denver location.
